As we all know oatmeal has numerous benefits. Since it is rich in fiber content it helps in lowering cholesterol and reduces the risk of some serious health problems like heart disease and type 2 diseases. Oatmeal is also a good source of antioxidants, iron, protein and complex carbohydrates. These  same property makes oats nutritious. Oats has been used for skin from many years.

So here are some benefits of oats for skin, health and hair



If you have a problem of acne from a long time then cooked oatmeal is the best treatment for it. Boil some oats until they become soft, then add about ¼ cup of honey. Mix it well and let it cool for 10 minutes. Apply this mixture on acne affected area and rinse it after 15 minutes. This will freshen and rejuvenate the skin by removing excess oil and bacteria from skin pores.



Oat meal is a natural moisturizer. It helps your skin in retaining moisture. It contains beta-glucan that forms a fine layer on the skin as well as penetrates deep into the skin to provide much needed deep moisturizing. Honey is one of the skin hydrating ingredients, so when oat meal is mixed with honey it gives a miracle benefits to your skin.


Oats is ideal for sensitive skin since it has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Oats can normalize your skin pH which is important for healing skin conditions like eczema, dry and itchy skin. When oats are grounded into powder they are known as colloidal oat meal. When this powder is mixed with warm water to form a thick paste and apply it over itchy skin to get immediate relief from itchy skin and drying.



As oatmeal has a granular structure it is very good exfoliate for skin. Exfoliation with oats will remove any dry skin cells when rubbed over the skin. Prepare exfoliating scrub with blended colloidal oatmeal, coconut oil, brown sugar and lukewarm water. Apply this mixture on your skin and rub for a couple of minutes and rinse off. All these ingredients have wonderful healing properties that help to soothe and nourish the skin.



Oats works great for healthy hair and scalp since they are rich in magnesium, zinc, iron, and potassium. Mix oatmeal, fresh milk and almond oil to create a thick paste and massage into hair and scalp for few minutes then rinse with lukewarm water. It acts effectively in reducing dandruff.
