Cupcakes To Bake Up During This Christmas Season

There is one festival that everyone looks forward in December and that is nothing but the Christmas.What better way can get in Christmas spirit than with some festive baking.It’s best time to make various small Cupcakes from a batter and decorate them in a fancy manner.Here is a list of recipes of some Cupcakes you can try for.


1.Christmas Tree Cupcakes

Serve this brightly decorated little cupcakes this holiday season.



  • Serves:Makes 12 Cupcakes
  • Cook Time:20 min
  • Prep Time:30 min
  • 150 g Butter
  • 150 g Caster Sugar
  • 3 Eggs,beaten
  • 150 g Self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Milk

For Frosting:

  • 200 g Butter,at room temperature
  • 250  g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Milk
  • Green food coloring

To Decorate:

  • Sugar Stars
  • Silver Balls
  1. Preheat the oven to 180c/160c fan/ gas 4 .
  2. Cream butter and sugar until it becomes light,fluffy and pale.
  3. Gradually mix in the beaten eggs alternating with the flour to stop the mix from curdling.Finally stir through the vanilla extract and milk.
  4. Take 12 paper cupcakes into a muffin tin and divide the mixture between them.
  5. Bake for 15-20 min until golden and springy.Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

For Frosting

  1. In a bowl beat the butter with a spoon until it becomes smooth then start to strain in the icing sugar stirring regularly.Add vanilla extract and milk.The frosting should be light and creamy.
  2. Mix your green food coloring into the icing to give an even green color.
  3. Once the cupcakes are totally cool, pipe the icing onto them starting from the outside of the cake and working into the center to create tall Christmas trees.
  4. Decorate with silver balls, stars or  then allow to set for at least 30 minutes so that the icing has a slightly crispy finish.

2.Snowflake Cupcakes

Winter time parties will be more fun by decorating cupcakes with this snowflake designs.


  • Serves:Makes 12 cupcakes
  • Cooking time:30 mins
  • Prep time:1 hour
  • 150 g Caster Sugar
  • 150 g Butter
  • 140 g Self Raising flour
  • 10 g Corn flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • 30 ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence

For Snowflakes and top

  • 350 g red fondant
  • 150 g white fondant
  • 1 tsp natural gum powder
  • Trex

For Basic Butter Cream

  • 110 g Butter ,at room temperature
  • 500 g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 60 ml Milk
  1. The night before you make cakes you need to add the gum and white fondant to make the fondant  easier to use in snowflake mould.
  2. Preheat the oven to 160c/320f/Gas mark 4.Line the baking tray with cases.
  3. Beat  the butter and sugar with vanilla essence until the mixture becomes fluffy.Add 1 Egg,1/3 rd of flour and some milk and beat until all the ingredients are combined.
  4. Divide the batter between 12 cases and bake for 25-30 min.Remove and cool in the tins for 10 minutes before moving to a wire cooling rack.
  5. To make the butter cream,add butter, icing sugar and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl, then beat for about 5 minutes. Pour the milk gradually if you need to loosen the mixture.
  6. After cooling spread the buttercream on the top of the cupcakes as smooth as possible.
  7. Cut 12 circles from the red fondant with one size larger than the cup size ans stick on the top of the butter cream smoothing the edges with your finger.
  8. Use White fondant and trex in the mould to stop fondant from sticking. Mould the desired amount of snowflakes and stick on the top of the red fondant with a brush of water.

3. Chocolate Cupcakes


  • Serves:Makes 20 cupcakes
  • Cook time:25 mins
  • Prep time:20 mins
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  1. Heat oven to 350 F.Line muffin tin with paper liners
  2. In a large bowl mix together sugar,flour,cocoa,baking powder,baking soda,salt.
  3. Add eggs,milk,oil and vanilla.Beat on medium speed for a minute.
  4. Stir in boiling water.
  5. Full liners with 2/3 full with batter.Bake cupcakes for approx. 20 minutes.
  6. cool completely on wire rack before frosting.

4. Nutella cupcakes


  • Serves:Makes 12 cupcakes
  • Cook time:30 min
  • Prep time:20 min
  • 1/2 cup self rising flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp unsalted Butter,at room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 8 ounces Nutella
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Milk
  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.Line a 12 cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix together salt flour and keep a side
  3. With an electric mixer beat the butter until creamy.Add the vanilla and almond extracts and beat until well blended.Add sugar to this mixture.Beat in the Nutella and add eggs and beat until well smooth.
  4. Beat the half mixture of flour with a low speed until it mixes well and add milk and beat again.
  5. Pour the batter in to the muffin cups fill them not more than 1/2.Bake for about 25 minutes.Pull them out of the oven before they do not over bake.
  6. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
